Reactivating Ancient Hearth

I apologize for panicking and removing my blog from public access.  I won't go into the details of what caused me to pull the plug, but after much thought and prayer, I realized that if this blog can help even one parent, teacher, or child on their journey - it should remain accessible to all.

Life has gotten so busy in the past couple of years that I have not been documenting much of what we've been doing, intending to go back in the summer and photograph our work for the year to post, yet summer flies by and we are already into the next spring.  I hope to be better at posting at least a smidgen of what we are doing.

Until then, I hope that this blog can be a place of inspiration and inner quiet where others can be nurtured as I have been.  Blessings and light to you all.

  1. Jen, thank you for reactivating your blog. I think that it is an incredibly generous act. I am sure there are thousands of folk, both homeschoolers and not, who have benefited from your blog, myself included.

Blessings to you and your family,
    Cathy

  3. Thank you very much for reactivating your blog, I am really happy that I am able to read your blog, it really helps! My son is 4 years old now, and I decided to homeschool him, and your blog really gave me the concept and ideas how I can do with my son later. Thank you very much for your generous sharing, I understand it really took up a lot of your time, I really appreciate it.

    Blessings to you.

  4. Welcome back Jen,

I've btdt too! Your blog certainly brought me much inspiration, for which I thank you. I know how much work it takes. Some of you blogging moms make homeschooling, housekeeping and blogging look so simple, I often wonder how you do it. I really struggle with putting the plans into actions and keeping the rhythm going. Yes, at times, it means not blogging.

I'll be looking forward to your posts (with no pressure added.)

  10. Thank you to each and every one of you for all for the supportive comments! I know you all are busy, too, and I appreciate the cyber 'hugs' :)

Lisa - I am THRILLED you got the St. Nicholas book. I love Jakob Streit and was so shocked that it was out of print. Thanks for LMK and MamaGoose, I found it was easier when the girls were younger and I kept life simpler. Everything had a rhythm and I was very organized (even though, no my house was and is not always clean) - but as they have gotten older and have gotten into more outside activities that are more time consuming, some things just fall to the wayside and blogging is one of those things, as are taking photos of those moments. But we all do the best we can and I know I have been so grateful for all the friends we've made through the blogging and waldorf/homeschooling community. And I have been so inspired by other moms. We're kinda like a nice support system for each other! So thank you for all that you've done, too, as well as all the other awesome mamas and teachers and bloggers out there that take the time to share! Blessings and happy spring to you all!

  13. I did not know you had taken it down, but I will tell you that I used your blog about one million and ten times during my first and second year homeschooling. Your blog helped me to SURVIVE!!! My oldest, who is now in 3rd grade, did not take to learning very easily (we have since learned she had a vision problem, now fixed thanks to vision therapy, YAY!!!) and your blog was a lifesaving resource during that time for me. You are the reason I started my blog TEACHING CAT AND BUG. I felt like without you I couldnt have gotten through that year of homeschooling so i am PAYING it FORWARD. Imagine how many people you have helped, if we are the small percentage taking time to email you. I cannot thank you enough!!!
